I wanted reader sunglasses so that I could see my wrist GPS thingie. I bought (on clearance)
a pair of Dual sunglasses. Thirty bucks. Plus, I got amber and clear lenses (both sets with reading insets). They work fine, but aren't polarized. From my standpoint, the criteria for a good set of glasses are good clarity, wraparound (you don't get blasted by the sun from the side), moderate density (my preference - you could get a light and a dark lens with some specs), polarized (better vision with no glare), light, and having a reading lens inset.
I think that there are glasses out there like this in the 15 to 40 dollar range. That's what I my get before the weather gets really nice again. Probably wouldn't go with a non-polarized lens again.
