I can't help but hear an elitist sense of entitlement from all those complaining about the conditions of their trail and the work that others are putting forth in an attempt to address the issue. This thread is a massive oversimplification of the real systemic socioeconomic inequalities that our society faces. Complaining about the conditions and behavior of the homeless does absolutely nothing to positively change the situation.

If you want to make positive change get active and educate yourself about the evidenced based solutions that will alleviate the problem. Get involved in local politics and campaign for people who are willing to make the tough budget proposals and decisions that will find housing and services for the disenfranchised. Organize a group of cyclists who are willing to get involved; actually talk to the people you are disparaging and find out what they need.

Without actually being willing to do more than take pictures, send e-mails and complain, your best option is to ride your $5000 recreational toys somewhere else.
