The Globe Carmel is nothing special in terms of components, all basic entry level comfort hybrid stuff, same components every manufacturer uses on its entry level bikes.
But the massively built aluminum compact frame and long wheelbase make me wonder what a Repack-minded mechanic might do to make it into a reliable, cost effective downhill bomber. Maybe just a better fork.
Heck, it may already be there and I just need to find the right downhill route and the nads to tackle it.
