That's exactly where I have always targeted but I have always struggled to get through a set without blowing up. I am not very good at vo2max and it's demoralizing not to get through them. Today I tried 115% for 6x3 and it was a world of difference, hit them all no problem, plenty of gasping for the 2nd half of each interval but I literally didn't even break a sweat (ok it's cold out). (I'm confident in the ftp number those % are based on.)
It's a big confidence builder to crush a set of vo2max intervals for once, but maybe I'm setting the bar too low now.
