Tern Link C8 questions for upgrades

Hey all,

Recently I got a Tern Link C8 8 Speed folder. I'm very happy with it so far. I just have a few issues that I want to resolve though and I though there is not a better place to ask

So I got 2 major issues and 2 smaller ones.

1) It feels like the handlepost is low. I'm not that tall (180 cm) but it feels like I'm bending too much in order to grab the handlebar. In order to resolve that issue, I searched online for stem extensions and I found out that there are some tested solutions such as the litepro double stem.

However I read a fair share of forums and topics on that and I found out that there is a considerable risk involved about the stiffness and durability of the stem due to that extra link. I really don't want to risk the quick release stem breaking so I want an expert's opinion about that upgrade. Is it worth it? Should I save up and get a T-bar and an andros system in the future and get done with it once and for all?

2) To be honest I have not a lot of experience with folding bikes, but it feels like the default handlebar is a bit short. My problem is that the bike feels like it is way more sensitive on steering than a proper 26 bike and I sense that this is due to the combination of the 20' inch wheels as well as the short handlebar. So what I was thinking was to find a way to either install a new wider handlebar or a handlebar with bullhorns so that I can hold it steadier. Again I want some help and advice from the experts. At the end it might just be that I haven't got used to it.

3) The default magnetix is weak, When you don't move anything it holds everything really tight together, but when rolling the bike folded, the slightest turn can detach the magnets and unfold the bike so the process gets a bit cumbersome. I read that installing the upgraded magnetix of the 26 tern folders or dahon's magnetix can solve the issue, but again I want some help from other bikers that may have already tried that or have just worked around the issue otherwise.

4) Fenders. The bike shop told me that the only fenders I can install are the SKS fenders, but I'm afraid they are going to add considerable weight to the bike and this is absolutely not wanted. Is there any other solution? maybe with some mountain bike like fenders and mudguards??

thanks a lot in advance
