I just think that would be more convenient than the second switch. You could make a 'y' cable for the ground and use a SPDT switch instead.


There is nothing wrong with center-off. I find them to be a little more touchy. I have had toggle switches fail, but it usually takes a long time. I would prefer a mini toggle, but I didn't see any waterproof ones. You can get a cover for the toggle, that's usually the part that needs waterproofing. You can always coat the back with silicone seal or hot melt glue.
