I had thought my GT would ride like an old Canondale I bought when the fat tube aluminum bikes first came out. Holy cow, what a stiff ride despite the steel fork. Now, my GT is much more refined, stiff it is, especially when the hammer goes down but just cruising along it actually rides pleasantly but taught. Tracks wonderfully compared to old steel noodle bikes. The triple triangle needs to make a resurrection.
