If you absolutely have to ride a trainer (like I do at the moment) I heartily recommend a trainer-specific tire. I picked up a Vittoria Rubino Pro Trainer tire for $20 in the Amazon Warehouse. It is significantly quieter and smoother, and now I'm not turning my regular rear tire silver.
I need to try the trainer tire, the spesh all season tire I'm using is loud as a metal band in a bar
