Can I use the oven to dry after rinsing without damaging? 300 degrees for 15min? I know one of you knows how to do this.
I don't know the chemistry of if but I believe I read that trying to evaporate off water more quickly in the oven does nothing to eliminate the oxidation that you get when thoroughly cleaning in water based degreaser and rinsing. I tried the oven drying method talked about here and each time I had fresh rust residue on the chain so basically my clean chain now needed extra lubrication/wiping down with more lube and wiping down again steps added. I like the idea of "chasing" the moisture out using isopropyl alcohol. I think I am going to try this method. I'm going to put some rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle and try it.
