My bikes are not investments or potential flips. I have tapped all of my French cranks to 9/16" because it gives me a wider choice of pedals.
+1. I re-tapped all my French threaded cranks that I cared to keep. I see no need to keep them "pure". I will keep them until they fail, or I fail, or for whatever other reason I can no longer use them.
