Yup. When I changed from mountain biking I just kept the same pedals and shoes. They're great for most kinds of road riding from 25 milers to centuries and loaded touring. They are much easier to walk in than road shoes/pedals. But, if you're going racing, you'll probably want road bike shoes and pedals.
