This is my 2015 Trek Crossrip Elite loaded with Arkel XM-45 and XM-28 panniers on OMM Sherpa front and rear racks. I hate lowriders so I went with the high riding front so I don't get hung up in ruts on National Forest ATV trails...I like it!!!
I've upgraded the handlebars to Salsa Cowchipper bars and put some 700x38c knobby tires on her. Once I wear out the wheels I'll build a new set, but I am going to re-thread them in a 3 cross using the stock components then true them up and re-install in the next week or so. They should last a while since I'm not really hard on them. I have some bar end shifters that I'd like to run in full friction mode, but haven't had a chance to re-route the cabling in order to do so. I love working on my bike as much as I like riding her. One day I'll actually buy a legit touring bike, but this one fits my needs as of now.
This pic shows the bike packed with all I need for a two week photo trip into Kisatche National Forest with no re-supply. I sometimes remove the rear rack and use a seat pack, but I needed a bit more cargo space for this trip. It looks a lot heavier than it really is.
