I built some nice wheels for my fixed gear bike, Mavic Open Pro rims on a first gen Dura Ace front hub, and a vintage Nashbar sealed bearing flip flop rear, with DT butted spokes. Yesterday I bought some wheels on CL, barely ridden Velocity Deep V rims on Phil Wood Classic chrome track hubs with straight DT spokes. The rims only have machined brake tracks on the front, the rear wheel has an even coat continuous paint or powder coat. The downside is that the rims are ORANGE!


Oh but if they were black or silver. I'm going to build another FG bike and am going to paint a vintage steel Colnago frame.


What the heck color to paint the frame? I was thinking black but then the bike will look like Halloween taffy.
