Bikes: Nashbar Road

It was wetter than I expected this morning, with standing water on the streets. I'd taken the road bike - without fenders - so I didn't want to deal with the Greenway. It's not the water so much as the mud and other debris that gets thrown up with it, and there tends to be a lot of it on the Greenway after overnight rains so I took to the streets instead. The upside is that the clouds of yellow-green pine pollen have been temporarily washed from the air.

Uneventful, except that I need to do that route more often, to train some newer drivers on the commute on dealing with bikes. No big deal, but I habitually establish a position approaching an intersection and one SUV wanted to passive-aggressively contest it. Creeping up faster than necessary, drifting over, that sort of thing, so I shot past (it was well back from the intersection) and established in the lane in front through the intersection and then scooted over. After they see that it's pointless and doesn't slow them down any they tend to stop doing that.
