Lots to address here:

1. The 2016 Jamis Ventura Sport came with Claris groupset, not Sora. The Ventura Comp has Sora, for about $800-900 probably.

2. Most of the entry level Fuji road bikes for around $500 also will have Claris, which is perfectly fine, in fact BETTER than Sora from 2010.

3. 2010 Sora had thumb shift buttons for downshifting, so you would have to really decide you were OK with That. Claris and Sora now have the double levers like upper-level groups...way better.

4. My bike is a 2015 Jami's Quest Comp...steel frame with Sora. I have no worries about durability.
