this review states it is 29 lb Still heavy for what it is.
Looks like they jury-rigged the bike to get the shifters on the handlebar (welding bar etc.) So the shifters may not be replaceable. Nothing on that bike will be made for longevity or easy repair.

Also a saying "don't make something out of it that it is not"
