Thick Slicks look cool (if that's important to you).

They are pretty cheap (but so are many good tires).

Mine have shown good puncture resistance so far.

They are heavy and slow.

They're probably a good idea if you like to skid and therefore wear out tires fast.

They're not great for serious road biking. Lots of other options would be better.
