I recall a charity fashion show that she did in the early 1970s, where instead of walking down a runway, she entered the stage on a 1890s bicycle (or tricycle or quadricycle), stopped to pose, then rode off. She had a different bicycle for each outfit and there may have been about ten or twelve in total.

Here's a picture of Miss day, circa 1950 with her son, Terry Melcher, who grew up to become a prominent producer with Columbia Records. He produced records for the Mamas & Papas, Beach Boys, Glen Campbell and several others. Most importantly, he was instrumental in the early success of the Byrds, helping them develop their folk rock sound and producing their first two albums. Melcher was also the original, intended target in the Manson-Tate murders.
I don't know much about Doris Day, as her acting/singing and the films she was in never did much for me. But it sounds like she is a good down to earth person and a successful mother as well. Many happy returns Doris Day!
