yes mpath, looking to put in an 11-28 on the back and swap the front 53/39 for a compact 50/34 (spent the last week on a gearing learning quest), I think I'm limited in choice as the rear derailleur is a Tiagra short cage, else I could put a 12-32. I think my bike is a parts bin special. its a 2009 Giant TCR Alluxx SL, the shop I bought it from was changing from Giant to an independent and wanted all the Giant bikes out the door. Brakes, crank, pedals, rear derailleur are all Shimano but a mix match.

Rear cassette is 8 speed and that is proving difficult to find in Malaysia, so having to get from the US or UK online.

But we will get there..and in the mean time I'll just huff and puff
