MD/DC could very well be an honest location, implying the northern suburbs of DC, such as Bethesda, MD or any of the Maryland towns outside of the DC line.

As for the survey, folks can fill it out, or not, or if they want fill it out with fictional answers if they feel it's out of line and want to return the favor. IMO, no harm, no foul here.
