Help me pick some rims

I'm building "new" wheels for my 1987 Guerciotti. It's SLX, equipped with first generation C-Record. I never had the original hubs or wheels.

I recently acquired some 32h hubs courtesy of our very own gomango, and am trying to decide on a direction. These will be clinchers, as I am totally clueless on tubulars. The current trend is much wider rims, up to 23mm for road use, and I am intrigued by classic stylings of the H plus son TB14. But that might be more rim than I need, since I've always run 23mm tires on this. 25s fit, but only if installed deflated in the rear.

Anyhow, go that route or get some NOS or gently used campagnolo or ambrosio? Anyone ridden the TB14?
