Actually that was only the first of the answers to that question. The second was "yes" and the third provided the most clarity: "It's a shallow depression, but it's enough to hold the pump under the top tube if you've got a pump peg behind the head tube. That's the way I carry mine. It rattles a bit on chip-seal roads, but it's never fallen off. It could fall off if you knock your knee into the pump for any reason, but it's the back (bottom) of the pump that goes first."

Sounds like you can get it to work with a peg of the type mentioned. I was interested to know that since that is the type my Soma G.R. has.
