Bikes: Evil Following MB, D'back Haanjo, Kona Unit SS

To be used how?

I have a personal distaste for street/fitness/comfort bikes with suspension forks: there's an up-charge for the fork, and you end up with a slow/heavy/flabby bike that excels at nothing. I'd rather have something like a Diamondback Haanjo [rigid, drop bars, fat tires, reasonable chainstay length]. But that's me. Are drop bars a deal breaker?
