Got halfway to work and realized I left my phone and my office door FOB sitting on the kitchen counter. I pulled over and debated for a minute on whether or not to go back home. I was right on schedule and returning would have made me about 20 minutes late. I decided to go a day without a phone. When I pulled up at the office a co-worker was also arriving so it was good timing because she could unlock the door with her FOB.
Last week, I was working overtime, last one in the office area and shortly after I left my office area, I realized that I didn't have my Mag card with me, which, not only meant that I wouldn't be able to get in the office (or building) on my own the next morning, with my bike behind a mag-locked door, I wasn't able to get to my bike either so I had to walk home (4km/2.5mi) in a strong headwind that was kicking up dust into my eyes. I bussed it the next day and waited outside the building until someone showed up and then waited outside my office area until I saw the custodian inside who let me in.
