Well put, Robert. I own two sets of carbon wheels and other than buying carbon-specific brake blocks which do wear out faster than normal brake blocks, performance has been superb.
One set that I purchased from a company in Kentucky called Small Batch Cyclery built my wheels with generic 38 mm carbon rims, Sapim spokes, and White Industries hubs. They've been great.
Yeah, my onlycarbonwheel rims that I was commenting about before do shred the rubber on the brake pads a bit and wear them a little faster than aluminum does. It isn't a problem. I just wipe them off every now and then. Doesn't affect performance.
