I believe you have the correct year in that Miyata catalog capture - 1984. I have what looks like an identical match (even the size) to the CL picture in your initial post. It is a tall bike so as someone already mentioned if you have the opportunity you should try it out to make sure it fits you properly. At 5' 10" it is taller than I normally ride but I have no issue with it.
I can't tell from the photo what modifications have been made to the Miyata but I replaced the Mountech RD that came on mine with an older Deore that had the barrel adjuster for indexing and put Suntour Accushift bar end shifters on and it made a world of difference in ease of shifting. Mine also has 27" straight wall Weinmann concave rims so I would verify the wheel size with the seller. I learned the hard way that I have to lower the pressure on my tires with no rim bead but for touring comfort that isn't a bad thing. My hubs have super smooth cartridge bearings.
I am a big fan of vintage touring bikes and of the 4 I have the Miyata definitely provides the most comfortable ride. I toured in Austria and Germany last year with my Schwinn Voyageur with 27" rims and 1 1/4" wide tires like my Miyata has and had no issues.
That being said the disk brakes and wider tire options with the LKLM could be very nice to have depending on your routes.
Good luck with your choice and upcoming tour.
