My father is 90 and to him "train" is a conveyance like a bus, but on tracks. he hasn't exercised ... in 50 years or more, I'd guess.
Some people win the gene lottery.
I'd say staying fit and exercising wisely, withing you own body's limits, can increase your functionality and your range of possible activities as you age---but your body could break down because of or in spite of your fitness regimen.
I just hope to be Able to be active when I am old ... not just alive, but actually living.
All those sickly old guys ... are still in the middle of a bike ride.
Yeah--quality of life and not just longevity.
The other thing I wonder about is how long a life I have in front of me as a rider what with all the distracted driving going on these days. That's different, for sure, than in the Leave it to Beaver days, I'm sure!
