Congrats on beating this stuck post and remember to grease up the new post/stem/BB cups when you build up your shiny polished Mondonico!
Did someone say something about a new shiny Mondonico? Pics are after cleaning and polishing with some mothers.
I'd consider the chrome... "passable". There were some deeper corrosion pits that I couldn't get out with polish or aluminum foil. Honestly though, you don't notice unless you specifically look at it closely.
LUCKILY the stem wasn't stuck. I had to be a bit forceful hammering down the stem bolt, but then the stem came right out. Whew...
The fork is original to the frame, both have "serial numbers" of "54M0" Not sure if it's a zero or an "O". Serial number on the frame is on the BB, and there is one on the steerer tube. The headset isn't original however. It was a shimano XTR...
All except one of the decals is perfect. Some of them are painted on, and some are stickers. (Chainstay = painted, seatstays = sticker. Everything else... painted, except for head tube badge.)
Pictures don't do it justice. it's very shiny.
