My take on gloves? Murphy's Law. Spend too much and I am probably eating the pavement and trashing them soon.

In my bike racing days I had a bigger concern - broken bones from crashes. So I developed a mantra of "don't let go of the handlebars until after I hit the road. Cost me skin but enabled me to keep riding and not lose training and racng time and fitness.

I don't apply that mantra now. I do stick to my first observation, mostly. Finger-less gloves are all from Performance; their in-house brand. Very little incentive for Murphy. Long fingered gloves are another story. I have some Showers Pass winter gloves I would hate to trash. But much of my winter riding is done with chopper mitts, leather mittens that will probably fair better than I will.
