Progress report on CCRT Repave in LosAl
I've been out there getting a look while running, on the bike, and in the car and nothing has been done. The construction window is almost over, ending on Apr 28. All I see are a few piles of gravel every quarter mile off the trail.
No news as to why they are so far behind.
LaCo PW Night Crew Damaging the SGRT
On Easter Sunday I rode 49 miles home from Mission Viejo, entering the SGRT at PCH, with the sun gone and it was dark.. There was a PW truck setting up `Men at Work` signs. Just before the Westminster/2nd trail entrance there were 3 large vehicles making up the work crew. These trucks easily totaled 35-50 tons, including a dump truck full of granite boulders. The ramp down from the street was buckled from all the weight when they entered. Lots of damage, so it appears they are cutting corners and bending the rules since its night and nobody knows otherwise (except slow riders like me).
I left a message with the LaCo Bike Coordinator, mentioned here:

Basically, the headquarters needs to know how sloppy this night crew is , so I did my best to explain their methods. It sure looks wrong to me.
I've seen the equivalent daytime crew doing this re-prop work on the channel bank below the delta (water side). They are much more careful, carrying the boulders in a bobcat, with the boulders piled up street level. IOW the dump truck never enters the bike trail, as it should be.
