... once the nut is removed from the back of the bolt for the upper pulley, you can "simply" pull the bolt out of the front of the cage.
Uh... how did you remove said nut? It seems to require a special wrench that I'll have to fabricate myself?

Edit, ten minutes later
I found a cheap 8mm box end wrench in my bin and filed the ends down a little so they'd fit into the slots, which are approx 1 mm wide. Worked perfect.

Another edit, this time for a photo. Look at the "8" end. I did this with a file, it took very little time.
