9-speed Deore is easiest to find when I look at sites like Jenson USA and Universal Cycles. Both sites also have the Microshift brand if you want to save a little money.
Two years ago, I easily sourced an XT-level 9-speed shifter for a build. Last year I couldn't find the same level lever anywhere that I wanted to buy from. High-end 9-speed is a bit hard to find these days.
