That's a different one again.


I looked at my poor attempts at phonetic spelling and realised that I hadn't quite got it right in my last post.


For some reason, I was taught two different pronunciations between the man and the bicycle company which borrowed his name and used his image in a lot of their marketing:


Sir Walter was Rah-lee ('Ra' - like the Egyptian Sun god).


And pretty much everyone I know has called the bicycle company was Ra-lee ('Ra' - as in 'Rat').


When I first read the comments about the lady narrator in the film, I wondered what she was saying. It seems that she was using the slightly posher 'Home Service' way of saying of the bicycle name, but it's a tiny and subtle difference.
