Bikes: Marin Four Corners, 1960's Schwinn Racer in middle of restoration, mid 70s Motobecane Grand Touring, various other heaps.

So, I put on my new GP4000s's last night, and got out for ~8 miles after dinner. A couple thoughts...

I really do need a new bike now

I put my current bike on a diet, big handlebar bag, fenders, 40mm tires are off, 25mm GP4000's are on.

The difference in weight is actually noticeable...I was surprised. It didn't make it go any faster (I was sort of disapointed - a small part of me was hoping I would need space shuttle tiles to keep from burning my chest hair off on re-entry to the neighborhood)..but I did actually like the feel of the bike. Still much heavier than the sort of reasonably priced road bikes I tried the other day .

But...I'm also going to miss my fenders and fat, fast tires. So now I need a road bike so I can put fenders, fat tires, rack, porteur rack, and maybe mustache bars on my steel bike

First world problems are a *****.
