Yes, absolutely. Maybe it's because I'm older than you, or maybe just a different type of rider, but I find the sharpness or punch that I have at the end of a race is strongly correlated with TSB. Not just that but it's also correlated with how TSS was accumulated during the few days prior. I make an effort to manage TSB the 5 days before a race to leave me slightly positive, in fact I'm doing it right now by putting a couple of different ride options for today, tomorrow, Saturday into a spreadsheet and seeing where I end up on race day Sunday.
