I drive about an hour to ride with Channel Islands Bike Club in Ventura, CA. I live in Chatsworth in the San Fernando Valley, and Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties have better toads, better weather, and I have lots of friends in the club. I sort of backed in by having friends in the club before I even knew about the club. It's been over 5 years now. I don't do every ride, but pick and choose each week. I used to be a 500 mile a week car commuter, if I did all the rides, it would be 250 to 300 miles of driving. Our rides are 35-45 miles usually 3-4 days a week. I could drive a lot less, but I would probably ride a lot less, too
