Yeah, you can tell by the image on the box. I had one of those as well. Briefly, they were single speed krate models - very small front wheel with a conical spring type suspension for the front wheel. The back seat stays bolt directly to the rear axle, as opposed to using the large chrome P clamps shown in the linked thread on the purple schwinn. Also the image of the seat on the box is a giveaway. Instead of a ribbed sparkle upholstery, it is a solid seat with a double stripe and an S on it. If I recall correctly they came in blue, black, and green. When they first came out you could get them for between $80 to $90. I think some people purchased them thinking they would be worth lots more further down the road, given the prices for actual vintage stingrays.

The purple stingray is a different animal. Definitely made in China, but a more faithful replica. I haven't been able to find out too much about it or its value. They may have made some sort of anniversary ghost crate a year or two before that. But again, these replicas were considerably more expensive at retail bicycle shops. I think it was around $240.
