Tires are a bit of a religious matter with many, but the reality is they are all a much of a muchness when you get down to average riding on average bikes. A lot of effort is put into tread patterns on road tires but it's all marketing appeal. the tread on a road tire is for water ejection only and because bike tires are so narrow and can't aquaplane anyway the tread serves no purpose other than to look good. I'd just look for some on special, I can buy tires for my current bike from between $150 to $50 each. No point in throwing money down the toilet is there.
