Bikes: Stormchaser, Paramount, Tilt, Samba tandem

Paramounts up to the mid the 70's are more common I think because they were complete bikes, and the middle and lower curly-handlebar bikes were not that great. The Sport Tourer didn't have butted tubes, the Super Sport was festooned in steel components and weighed 30+lb, the Conti and Varsity were monsters, and they all had their components branded Schwinn. If you compare a le Tour to a Super Sport it's an improvement in every way except maybe what you think of the point of origin. In the 80's when Paramounts went frame-only, I definitely see more of the cheaper bikes, which due to the Japan-Taiwan-China evolution are all pretty good and made with butted tubes and innovative Shimano / Suntour parts from the middle of the hierarchy and don't weigh a ton.

"Well, well!" said Holmes, impatiently. "A good cyclist does not need a high road. The moor is intersected with paths and the moon is at the full."
