I'm in the camp of good riddance, both 5800 and 6800 FD. Currently have 6800 on my bike, and hate it.
Despite my comments about the 6800 FD design, coming from previously riding 5700 105 (which is a bit clunky to say the least), I actually like 6800 quite a lot, both aesthetically and in use.
