Tour de Long Beach

I'm a lucky guy. My daughter's employer has a lot of cyclists, and their office supports the Tour de Long Beach ... a bicycle ride that raises money for childhood cancers.

She and I have been riding to work pretty regularly for the last few weeks to get ready, and it's been fab. We're both chatterboxes, so the time goes quickly. And it is amazing what she'll tell me when she's riding a bike.

We did the same ride a couple of years ago. It wasn't well supported, there were boatloads of inexperienced riders, drizzly at the start, and a stiff headwind on the way back. This time, we were treated to good support, a staggered start to solve the congestion issues, great weather, and of all things, a tailwind on the way back.

And of course, she loved it. And we loved the free beer at the end, too.

Soo much fun riding with the kiddo. And I think she'll keep it up at least for the rest of the summer.
