That's about what I thought. I wouldn't be surprised if I could get it for that, but I don't think I want this much of a project right now. And looking at the additional photos, it would clean up fairly well, but I think I want something with better paint and a step or two higher up the food chain for my wife's first vintage steel bike.
Good plan. Aim high. Are you looking for a down tube shifter bike? If so hopefully your wife is on board with that. 7-8 years ago my wife said she had to have a Celeste Bianchi after I had a couple of them go through my hands. I found one after a 6 month search and put 8 speed brifters on it and some other nice parts. She LOVED the fact that it had Dura Ace brakes.
