Well, I'd rather they put the virtual segments on virtual roads, rather than virtual segments on real roads.
Imagine if you were a cyclist in the Solomon islands. Pound out your segment. Look it up on Strava, and there were 100 flybys of people that have never been to the island, and the KOM is held by someone riding an exercise bike.
