Funny you should mention that. The one thing I especially like about the big 40mm tires is that they are super easy to take off and put back on. However, they take MUCH longer to re-inflate. It takes twice as much work to get them to just half the pressure of regular road tires.
My experience is different. At home - it's no problem with a floor pump, whether it's a low, or high volume tyre.
On the road, with a small carry pump, I find it easier not having to pump to a high pressure. Same goes for using pumps at petrol stations - many have problems pumping to over 3-4 bars.
