I visit often I guess as a lurker I only log in when I want to see photos or say something.
With my dyslexic brain I find is very distracting so now, I just push the bottom 30% of my page off the bottom of my screen.
Hard to complain about a free site without overly annoying add content.
Might want to do a poll and see if the rank and file like it, most might always be logged in and not care.
