Nice write up [MENTION=137322]Jerrys88[/MENTION]. I have two bikes and they both serve different purposes. I have commuted on both and I have to say for comfort my Rivendell wins hands down. When my work place is in a riskier neighborhood, the Brompton is the bike of choice. Like you say, each bike has their place. Glad to hear you like your Synapse and it is working well for you.
