OK, found the flickr album and this is Ritchey LOGIC steel alloy tubing, custom drawn for him by Tange...I'll STILL go with something between 26.8 and 27.2 as the most popular seat post choices for Tange steel back in this era.
Thanks for the advice, the folks at Ritchey didn't have alot to add but I can pick up used 26.8 and 27.0 posts locally and try them out according to Sheldon's database of seat posts the late 90s Ritchey Road frames were 27.0 The tubing by the way is as you say Ritchey Logic - Super Tubing by Tange
