I don't see the picture, but I'm guessing it's actually BB 294. The same S/N should be engraved on the steerer. I don't think that tells you anything though. FWIW, my Montello is NN 902. I have no certainty of what year it is beyond T-Mar having identified it as about an '87. My Gran Turismo, which is definitely an '84 plus or minus a year, is R 420 (single 'R').
