Keep in mind that putting many styles of insoles into shoes that had minimal insoles will make them tighter. I always size half size up since I use superfeet. You don't want to give up toe room in exchange for stiffness. You want both. I would suggest trying one thing at a time in the interest of conserving money for other things. If you are changing pedals, do that first with your current shoe setup. Then, if it still isn't stiff enough, add the inserts. The pedals alone may change your foot support enough.
