My Giant TCX came with stock 140mm rotors and SRAM Rival disk brakes.

Is it possible / desirable to replace these with 160mm rotors, and what would be involved? The Giant is a CX bike, but I plan to use it for road and gravel riding.

I presume that I would need to replace the adapter that goes between the frame and the calliper to offset the calliper to fit the larger rotor. Are these adapters standard for all frames and brake manufacturers, are are they vendor specific (e.g. SRAM)?
